Consultant in Pain Management & Anaesthesia

Dr Jonathan Francis BM FRCA FFPRCA qualified from Southampton University Medical School in 1990. He worked on the South Coast and Cardiff as a junior doctor before taking a registrar training post in Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine in East Anglia. After gaining specialist status he spent a further year in Pain Medicine in London before taking up a Consultant post in Gloucestershire in Anaesthetics and Pain Management. He has 30 years’ experience of treating patients with painful conditions including all forms of musculoskeletal pain, nerve pain and fibromyalgia. 

Jonathan has been involved in medical education all his working life and is a proud father of 4.  He is a keen endurance athlete, particularly triathlons and winter swimming and is planning on taking part in the Winter Swimming World Championships in Finland in March 2026.
